What is Color It Purple?

Color It Purple is Cornell’s annual day of giving. We rally the support of alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends of the college to raise money in an 18-hour online giving event. 

When should I make my gift?

The fun starts at 6 a.m. Hilltop time (CDT) on March 27, 2024! You can give anytime before midnight!

Do I have to give online?

No, you may call the Office of Alumni and College Advancement toll-free at 877.683.7666 to make a gift from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Only gifts made on March 27, 2024, will count toward Color It Purple goals, challenges, and matches.

Members of the campus community may make a donation in-person at the Thomas Commons on March 27.

Will my gift count toward any challenges/matches?

Yes, we have over $150,000 in challenge match opportunities this year…meaning that your support will go further than ever before. Your donation could be doubled or even tripled thanks to generous donors who are matching gifts!

Which funds can I support on Color It Purple?

Gifts may be directed to the Cornell Fund, Golden Rams, the Library, Off-Campus Study, Cornell Scholars and Scholarships, or the Landscaping & Trees fund.

Will I receive a receipt for my donation?

All donors will receive an email receipt shortly after making their donation. If you need a mailed receipt, please contact 877.683.7666 or giving@cornellcollege.edu.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes! All donations made on Color It Purple are tax-deductible in accordance with law.

When will my credit card be charged?

Your debit/credit card will be charged upon completion of your donation.
